Our numbers are checked as carefully as a free tool can check them โ€” but an estimate is not an invoice.

Estimates, not official bills

Every figure produced by BijliCalculator โ€” slab energy charges, fixed charges, FAC, duty, subsidy-adjusted totals โ€” is an estimate. It is not a bill, an invoice, a demand notice, or an official statement from any electricity utility. Only the DISCOM's own billing system can produce your real bill, and where they differ, the DISCOM's bill prevails.

How we verify tariff data

Slab rates, fixed charges and subsidy rules are entered from published state regulator (SERC) tariff orders and DISCOM tariff schedules wherever we could obtain and verify them. The tariff directory links each state to its regulator and official source so you can check any number yourself. Data carries the tariff year it reflects; a new order mid-year can change rates we have not yet incorporated.

Where real bills differ from estimates

Even with perfect tariff data, a real bill can diverge from an estimate. The usual reasons:

Not advice

Nothing on this site is financial, legal, or regulatory advice. We are not affiliated with any DISCOM, SERC, the CEA, the Ministry of Power, or any government body. Before making decisions that carry money or penalties โ€” disputing a bill, withholding a payment, changing a sanctioned load, buying solar โ€” verify the position with your DISCOM or state regulator, and read the governing tariff order or supply code.

External links

Links to regulator websites, DISCOM portals and official documents are provided for your verification. Their accuracy and availability are outside our control.

Errors

We fix tariff errors quickly when they are reported โ€” that is why the contact page exists. If you find a figure that contradicts an official source, tell us, citing the source, and we will correct it.
