Haryana electricity bill calculator — how your bijli bill is built
Haryana's two utilities — UHBVN (north) and DHBVN (south) — bill under a two-category HERC structure: Category I (≤100 units/month) at ₹2.20 (0–50) and ₹2.70 (51–100) with no fixed charge, and Category II (above 100 units) billed telescopically at ₹2.95 (0–150), ₹5.25 (151–250), ₹6.45 (251–500) and ₹7.10 (501+) with a ₹50/kW fixed charge. No fixed charge is billed at all below 300 units.
Panchkula to Gurugram shares one HERC tariff — and there is no free-units scheme: relief comes from the low Category I rates and the waived fixed charge.
Example: your Haryana bill for 250 units
Take a Haryana household using 250 units in one month on UHBVN (North). The telescopic energy charge is 50 × ₹2.2 + 50 × ₹2.7 + 50 × ₹2.95 + 100 × ₹5.25 = ₹917.50. Add the fixed charge (₹0.00), FAC (₹50.00) — that gives a gross bill of ₹967.50. With no subsidy in this state, ₹967.50 is your payable.
Here is the same 250 units across every DISCOM in Haryana — useful when your board's name differs from the common one:
| DISCOM | Energy | Fixed | FAC | Duty | Subsidy | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| UHBVN (North) | ₹917.50 | ₹0.00 | ₹50.00 | ₹0.00 | — | ₹967.50 |
| DHBVN (South) | ₹917.50 | ₹0.00 | ₹50.00 | ₹0.00 | — | ₹967.50 |
Haryana subsidy / free-unit scheme
Haryana has no free-units scheme. The design relief: Category I rates are among the cheapest in north India (₹2.20–₹2.70/unit) and no fixed charge is billed at all for consumption up to 300 units/month.
Haryana tariff details — live data
The table below is generated from the same data the calculator uses, so what you see here is exactly what is charged. Looking for the per-unit electricity price in The slab column IS your per-unit rate — each rate applies only to the units inside its own slab range.
| DISCOM | Slabs | Fixed charge | FAC |
|---|---|---|---|
| UHBVN (North) | 1–50 @ ₹2.2, 51–100 @ ₹2.7, 101–150 @ ₹2.95, 151–250 @ ₹5.25, 251–500 @ ₹6.45, 501–above 501 @ ₹7.1 | ₹50/kW load | ₹0.2/unit |
| DHBVN (South) | 1–50 @ ₹2.2, 51–100 @ ₹2.7, 101–150 @ ₹2.95, 151–250 @ ₹5.25, 251–500 @ ₹6.45, 501–above 501 @ ₹7.1 | ₹50/kW load | ₹0.2/unit |
Remember: in telescopic billing each slab rate applies only to the units inside its range. Many websites multiply one rate by total units — that is wrong and overstates bills. This calculator, like your DISCOM, adds slab by slab.
4 practical ways to lower your Haryana bill
- Staying inside 100 units keeps you on Category I's ₹2.20–₹2.70 rates — the cheapest band in north India.
- Gurugram's metro load is AC-heavy; a 26°C setting keeps you near the band edge.
- Crossing 100 units moves the whole bill to Category II rates — the jump at the boundary is the biggest line on the tariff.
- Solar in the southern belt is strong; pair a 3-kW plant with the net-metering policy.
