Rajasthan's zero-bill & rebate scheme — built into this calculator

The Mukhyamantri Free Electricity Scheme works in two stages: up to 100 units the bill is ₹0, and 101–300 units earn a per-unit rebate (₹3 off on the next 50 units, ₹2 off on 151–300). This calculator reproduces both layers automatically — untick the subsidy box to see the unsupported JVVNL/AVVNL/JDVVNL tariff and your real savings.

Rajasthan bill — quick answers

Is there a free-unit scheme in Rajasthan?

Yes — the Mukhyamantri Free Electricity Scheme: up to 100 units the bill is ₹0, and 101–300 units get a per-unit subsidy (₹3 off the next 50 units, ₹2 off 151–300). Beyond 300 units there is no subsidy. The toggle reproduces it.

JVVNL, AVVNL or JDVVNL — which one am I under?

JVVNL = Jaipur/Jhunjhunu belt, AVVNL = Ajmer/bikaner belt, JDVVNL = Jodhpur/bikaner west. Your bill logo tells you; the dropdown lists all three.

Rajasthan electricity bill calculator — how your bijli bill is built

Rajasthan's three utilities — JVVNL (Jaipur), AVVNL (Ajmer) and JdVVNL (Jodhpur) — bill the whole state on RERC FY 2026-27 slabs of ₹4.75 (0–50), ₹6.00 (51–150), ₹7.00 (151–500) and ₹7.50 (501+) per unit with slab-wise fixed charges and a ₹0.22/unit FAC.

From Jaipur to Jodhpur the tariff is identical because it is a state-wide RERC structure. The entry slab at ₹4.75/unit is cheap, but once you cross 150 units the ₹7.00 top slabs dominate the bill.

Example: your Rajasthan bill for 250 units

Take a Rajasthan household using 250 units in one month on JVVNL (Jaipur). The telescopic energy charge is 50 × ₹4.75 + 100 × ₹6 + 100 × ₹7 = ₹1537.50. Add the fixed charge (₹20.00), FAC (₹55.00) — that gives a gross bill of ₹1612.50. The state subsidy of ₹350.00 is then deducted, leaving ₹1262.50 payable.

Here is the same 250 units across every DISCOM in Rajasthan — useful when your board's name differs from the common one:

Rajasthan subsidy / free-unit scheme

The Mukhyamantri Free Electricity Yojana makes the whole bill ₹0 up to 100 units, then credits ₹3/unit on 101–150 units and ₹2/unit on 151–300 units; consumption above 300 units gets no subsidy. Under the PM Surya Ghar programme (Aug 2025) the free limit rises to 150 units for ~1.04 crore participating households. The calculator applies these tiers automatically.

Rajasthan tariff details — live data

The table below is generated from the same data the calculator uses, so what you see here is exactly what is charged. Looking for the per-unit electricity price in The slab column IS your per-unit rate — each rate applies only to the units inside its own slab range.

JVVNL (Jaipur)1–50 @ ₹4.75, 51–150 @ ₹6, 151–500 @ ₹7, 501–above 501 @ ₹7.5₹20/month₹0.22/unit
AVVNL (Ajmer)1–50 @ ₹4.75, 51–150 @ ₹6, 151–500 @ ₹7, 501–above 501 @ ₹7.5₹20/month₹0.22/unit

Remember: in telescopic billing each slab rate applies only to the units inside its range. Many websites multiply one rate by total units — that is wrong and overstates bills. This calculator, like your DISCOM, adds slab by slab.

4 practical ways to lower your Rajasthan bill

  1. Avoid crossing 300 units — beyond it the per-unit subsidy (₹3/₹2) disappears completely.
  2. Use a fan/cooler instead of AC in dry-season evenings; our cooler tool shows a ₹600+ monthly delta.
  3. Rajasthan has India's best solar profile — a 3-kW plant with net-metering pays back in 4–5 years.
  4. Pump water during solar hours to keep evening consumption inside the lower slabs.

Quick questions about Rajasthan bills

Does Rajasthan give free units?

Yes — up to 100 units free (whole bill ₹0), then per-unit subsidies of ₹3/₹2 up to 300 units. PM Surya Ghar households get up to 150 units free. The calculator applies these tiers automatically.

Which board is mine?

JVVNL for the Jaipur region, AVVNL for the Ajmer–Udaipur belt, JdVVNL for Jodhpur–Bikaner — your bill letterhead identifies it.

Is ₹4.75 really the first slab?

Yes — 0–50 units at ₹4.75 is the RERC-approved opener for FY 2026-27 (₹6.00 to 150 units), made effectively free up to 100 units by the state subsidy.

Can solar wipe my Rajasthan bill?

A 3–7 kW plant with net-metering generally offsets 100%+ of an average home's usage across the state's 300-plus sun days.
