There is no universal free-units scheme (MERC Case 75/2025, order 25–27 Mar 2026).
What are the MSEDCL fixed charges?
MSEDCL levies a flat ₹130/month (₹35 for BPL consumers) in FY 2026-27 — not a per-kW load fee. Mumbai licensees (Adani, Tata, BEST) use their own fixed charges of ₹25–30/month with separate per-unit rates.

Maharashtra subsidy / free-unit scheme
Maharashtra does not run a free-units scheme. Instead the FY 2026-27 MYT order (Case 75/2025 — fresh order 27 Mar 2026, replacing the 25 Jun 2025 order) cuts tariffs for five years: households using ≤100 units pay up to ~10% less from April 2026, heading to 26% cheaper by FY 2030. Smart-meter homes also earn a TOD rebate of ₹0.80–1.00/unit during solar hours (9 am–5 pm); the estimate covers the energy, wheeling, duty and fixed components while FAC and TOD credits move monthly.
